Abstract:

The paper discusses the role that language plays in construction of reality, the human lifeworld from a philosophical perspective. It introduces an argument according to which what makes the flow of experience perceived by humans fixed is meaningfulness assigned to some parts of experience. This is how objects of the world come to being. Some examples of historical and cultural objects are analyzed together with more ordinary ones. A three-layered theory of sense is being introduced: the first layer is ordinary senses, the second is scientific senses (which are objective and intersubjective), and the third is layer is cultural.
